i read on the forums that unless you purchase the eclipse unit from an AUTHORIZED eclipse dealer, you do not get covered on their factory warrenty (ie: like buying on ebay). is this is the same problem with the pioneer unit? and if not, so would it be okay to purchase a pioneer unit via ebay or other sources, and still get their factory warrenty? thanks in advance~!!!

 

I know that Eclipse will only extend their warranty if purchased through authorized dealers.

At the Pioneer site, the warranty states: "THIS LIMITED WARRANTY APPLIES TO THE ORIGINAL OR ANY SUBSEQUENT OWNER OF THIS PIONEER PRODUCT DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD PROVIDED THE PRODUCT WAS PURCHASED FROM AN AUTHORIZED PIONEER DISTRIBUTOR/DEALER IN THE U.S.A. OR CANADA. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A SALES RECEIPT OR OTHER VALID PROOF OF PURCHASE SHOWING THE DATE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE"...
