JL 10w7 in a coupe?
JL 10w7 in a coupe?
hey guys, i just bought a brand new coupe and was told that if i just want some more bass to do just a sub and amp to run the sub...i was told that if i wanted to replace the stock speakers, i should replace the whole bose system completely. I honestly think the bose system has a bit too much treble and could use some more mid to high range bass. so i'm thinking of going with a JL 10w7 with a JL 500/1 amp...some people are saying its a good idea and some are saying its too much bass...what do you think???
Actually, according to the power chart supplied by JL Audio, the 500/1 is perfect.

I would say go for it. I have a 10w7 and 500/1 in my sedan, and I think its perfect. Besides, you can always turn down the gains to a 2:1 overlap. (I have it set at a 3:1 overlap right now).

I just did a 10w6 in a 4080 box and a 500/1, and it sound insane! From the research I did before hand, that is the best way to go. Make sure not to use JL's auto sense though, it suck!
