I know we've brought this up before.. but it kinda sucks that FM reception with an aftermarket radio sucks! Thank god for XM... anyone found the holy grail to improve it?

I bought one of those attena converters to use with my AVIC-D1. I don't use it often but the few times I did the reception seemed fine. I picked it up at Circuit City for like 10 bucks or something like that.

I have the N1 installed and the FM reception is just fine. Did you make sure to hook up the power antenna wire?

Well, its kind of weird becuase on my Maxima I put in an Eclipse CD deck (5444) and the reception was really crappy. So when I decided to get my DD for my G I decided to get Sirius since I was going with the Eclipse 5435 DD. Now the FM reception is strong and I am getting dropouts on Sirius.

That's life for you...

used this trick on the bosses type-r when the antenna hole was shaved. get a universal metal pull-out style am/fm antenna, and tuck it either in the trunk or if you can try to stuff it just under the carpet on the side of the car as long as you can extend it. works on some cars might not on yours but worth a shot for the 7 dollars one of those antenna's will cost you
