Thanks for the help guys!!
Made my component speaker rings this past weekend, and tonight I installed the passenger side. With all the help from the DIY posts and reference information it was all real easy. I'll hopefully get the drivers side installed tomorrow, and then the amps later this week.
Here's a pic of my speaker ring...still need to drill the countersink in this one. And yes that's a 5.25" midrange driver...I got a great deal on them used from a good friend. Focal Polykevlars.

I f***ing hate the stock screws that held the Bose speaker ring onto the door. More kudos to you if you get them to work. They refused to screw back into those holes... acted like the threading in the holes were gone or something. Pissed me off. In the end I ended up going with some long bolts/nuts/washers.
I used the stock speaker as a template to drill the holes, countersunk those holes, and they screwed in ok. I was contemplating just using new bolts, but ended up using the stock ones. Also used velcro to mount the crossovers above the speaker in the door. Tweeter fit fine in the stock location.
It's noticeably softer now. But once the amp gets put in, it should sound great. Being powered by an Eclipse 2 channel amp putting out 130x2 RMS.
