IPOD integration with Eclipse AVN

Has anyone tried to integrate their Ipod with an Eclipse unit using the peripheral device?

I haven't used the Peripheral on an Eclipse yet but I've used it in other applications. It works OK, not as good as an Icelink in many cars, but OK.

No text on screen though. Be aware : )

So if you're looking for the best integration with Sirius AND Ipod, which unit wins?

Or if the AVN will play DVD+RW mixed wtih mp3's, will that show as text on the screen? 4+ gigs of mp3's is a lot!

DUnno and dunno : ( Sorry.

The Pioneer iPod interface sucks - try Googling the PN and you will find a ton of negative reviews.

I strongly suspect that there will be an Eclipse iPod interface for 2006... but the Peripheral is a stopgap.

Hey - I should see if my new Icelink for Toyota works in the Eclipse!

But the AVN will show text on screen of mp3s burned on a DVD+RW, no? The specs show that it is DVD+RW compatible.

I just posted my Pioneer Ipod interface. I can even sift through songs on my Ipod using my steering wheel controls! YAY! Although I'd say the readout on the Pioneer isn't as it shows in the manual. I don't see all the info I'd like. But whatever, now my Ipod can sit in the glove, and I can sort with the steering wheel. I'd assume you can do the same with an Eclipse.

Would you also suspet that any future Eclipse Ipod interface would work with the current models? Like the 5435?

Unless they change their changer protocol, which I consider unlikely.
