These are what I have in my car, they used to be much cheaper on this site. I paid $10 for a 2 meter cable about a year ago. Still not too bad though.

Is Monster cable just as overpriced and overrated in the car audio department as they are in the home theater department?

 

What do you think? They're basically selling the same home audio stuff repackaged for car audio. I would imagine it comes from the same factories. I would use their products, I just wouldn't buy it due to price.

 

The MicroXLN is a very small-diameter cable and a very tight twist. It is easy to run in cars and is great at noise rejection, and has great ends - but it's not cheap.

I doubt it's the same as home.

Monster created the category and seems to have very good QC and design. I don't like their prices much, but I guess name recognition costs something.

Besides, don't you want to subsidize their naming rights for SF's stadium?

 

Good advice from the other folks. My two cents to throw in the boat is to buy some descent middle of the road cables. The main thing in my opinion would be to run your cabled down the middle of the car which is a bit of a pain with the carpet. However, there are virtually no other wires running through the middle of the car and this will aid you in keeping any unwanted sound out of your cables. Also, don't buy ones that are too long as you don't want extra at the ends that you wind up in a loop of some sort. Lastly, I think one poster noted that the G's are already loud enough. Amen to that....I've had my '05 G for almost a year now and my prior car was a E Series Benz. I've been very happy going back to a *** car, but I am quite surprised at how poorly insulated the G is. The road noise, in my opinion is really bad. I would ever so highly recommend that you instal a sound deadener while your going to the trouble of upgrading your sound system. I assure you, that no better money will be spent. There are several good deadeners out there. Personally I go with Fat Mat as I think it's considerably cheaper than DynaMat, and it installs a heck of a lot easier. I'm sure there are also other brands out there that are adequate for the job. Bascially, from my looksy around my G, (i'm only run a GPS and Sat antenna wires through under the carpet), but I was surprised at how littel insulation/deadening is in the rear seat and trunk area. Whever, I get around to working over the audio system, the first thing I will do I pull the seats, carpet, etc..out of the car and get the thing properly dampend!!

This may sound a bit ****, but if you've ever driven a German car or a car that has been treated with sound deadener, you will suddenly appreicate the amazing difference that it makes. A good example is my 1990 Miata which has gone from complete rattletrap to, well semi-rattletrap...(hey, it's a miata!!)..
