I am looking for dvd player to go with TVand Nav. I usually download Korean show programs and movies. It's usually xvid file or dvdrip. Some are SVCD. I know that some dvd player will play svcd for sure. But, what about xvid or dvdrip files? If burn on cd-rw or dvdr would it play on dvd player? then which players??

You should look into carputers.

 

you can get programs that will convert into mpg/vcd/dvd format and then burn them to cd-r or dvd+/-r disks. Personally, I think nero vision is one of the best programs available for doing editing/converting. You can take a downloaded movie, convert it to dvd and burn several part movies all onto the same disk (vcd usually requires 2 disks). Then once you burn to vcd or dvd, pretty much all dvd players will play it.
