Question on wiring

I finished my system a couple of weeks ago and was wondering if i did something stupid. When i tapped into the head unit one of my installer friends suggested that i just keep the factory wires from the factory amp connected along with the rca's that i spliced into the HU so that when i take my system out (lease) i can just clip the wires going to my amps. I was wondering if by doing this i am still somehow using the factory amps filters and thus defeating my 450/4's processing ability? I try to switch my amps filter but does nothing. The system is in a 05 sedan bose premium navi and consists of stock HU 450/4, XR 6.5 front and rear( i know i know) W7 12 and 2 500/1's. Thanks for any input.

Think about it this way, did you tap before or after the factory amps

No need to tap "into" the head unit if you're keeping the stock deck. In your trunk on the left side resides the Bose Amp. Tap the signal BEFORE the amp, and you basically have the signal un-compromised by the BOSE amp straight from the HU signal.

From there, you have all the signals you need to run any amps. The only hard part is wiring power from the battery, and running the wires to your new speakers.
