any "remote starter" specialist around here?

I bought a used g35 m6 coupe a few months ago, now winter is here and when I try to use the "remote starter" it it dont always work...

I do the sequence correctly, (car in neutral, handbrake...) and I push the buton on the remote, the interior light flashes a few times, I remove the key, leave the car, lock the door with remote and the engine stop.

Sometimes when I try to "remote start" it, the parking lights flash, I hear a fast "tic tic tic tic tic" from under the car, the car dont start and the parking light flash a few times again.

Anyone can give me any ideas/clue ?

My suspicion is that they have the wrong tach wire, or if it's an off-brand, that the tach input doesn't work real well.

But since you say it's an M6, maybe it's the interlock to prevent you from running over small children when you press the button?

I'd NEVER put a remote start in a manual tranny car.

Hi guys, I am happy to see that you try to help me!!

I NEVER was interested in a remote car started, it's because it's allready in there that I try to use it. To get this to work the installer must have mess with alot of stuff in the car like the g35.....

I am in canada, the installation must have been made in Montreal qc. and the remote says: "autostart" as the company name.

How can I reset my tach? what do you mean?

I wouldn't mess with it if you're not experienced.

Here's their website, find a local shop who's knowledgable.

http://www.autostart.ca/

Good luck!
