Audio ideas..

sadly i don't get my G until the spring of next year...soo i'm just around all the boards soaking up ideas for when it comes my turn. i've been thinking of how creative i can install some subs and an amp in the g and i need some help from people who've already done it since i dont have access to one yet.

if anyone has any creative installs i'd like to see how you did them so just post them or contact me. i'm trying to think of a way to incorporate 2 subs and an amp in the back seat area but i dont know what it looks like down there and if it would be possible. can someone take a pic of the foot area in the back for me? i'd like to know what i'll have to work with.

thanks

Re: Audio ideas..

welcome aboard.....are you talking about the Coupe or the Sedan?
Makes a difference because of trunk space.... The coupe's trunk is very small.....that will take LOTS of creativity to incorporate 2 subs + amp.
There are a few people who have done it though, there's a search button on the top to help you out.
Good luck with the wait! I waited 6 months for my special order coupe... it was well worth it, though.

Re: Audio ideas..

i'm talking about the coupe..i know the trunk is small which is why i'm trying not to have the subs and amp in there. what i'm asking is.. is there a way to somehow put the subs right under the backseats meaning i'd have to cut into it and get the wiring in there. basically what i want is to have a sub on each side and have it facing in towards the rest of the car so the speaker is right behind the person's legs who is sitting there. it sounds pretty tough to do and probably not very smart to start cutting up the interior but if it works it would definitely be a sweet custom setup.

by the way, how does the bose stock system sound anyway? i'm sure a couple 12's and an amp can make it much better...let me know what you think

Re: Audio ideas..

hmm, great idea man.....would look nice
I'd say maybe 2 10's or even 8's because of tight airspace (bucket seats)
The Bose system is okay. As a $900 option i didnt think it was worth it, so thats why i didnt get the bose system. The stock system uses the same headunit w/ 6cd changer and 6 speakers (as opposed to 8). The 2 extra Bose speakers are 6 1/2's i believe behind the rear headrests and 100-some watt amp back there. In my opinion, NOT worth the extra $900.

Re: Audio ideas..

could you tell me what it looks like down there... i'm curious as to if it would even be possible. i figure theres really nothing behind that part of the floor area so if i can just cut into it and mount the sub there it would look pretty sweet. and maybe some fiberglass over it to protect it from people's feet and stuff.

Re: Audio ideas..

You can put an 8" sub in each front seat, there will be some cutting into the foam, lQQK for some sub that have shallow mounting depth, you probably can find some plastic enclosure at radio shack, and put a mirror on the floor, so the sub can be seen, or put the sub under the rear deck, where the stock spearks at, should have plently of room there for pair 10's, one of the best idea that i've seen, is the focal's lil 5.25"s subs(200 each tho), put four of them in each front door, in coupe there is enuff room for it, you can build lil enclosure, just make them air tight as possible and use long peice(1.25x 16 or bigger???) of pvc pipe or some flexible air tight tubes, plug one end tight and put other one into the enclosure, and lay it down at bottom of the door trim, whola you have some decent size box...s.w.

Re: Audio ideas..

Careful there bud..they started putting the gas tanks underneath the rear seats. I'd stay away from cutting anything down in that area..
