Another TVandNav2Go Conversion! Pics
So I ordered my parts on Monday, and surprisingly I got them both today! Let me start off by thanking Domenic from TVandNav2GO for being so helpful and having patience with me. After getting both the tvn2 unit and the pac aai-nis I decided to wire them, started around 8pm and finished at 11:30 or so, just to give you a time frame of how long it took. I had a friend help me through the process and we had to go out and get some parts so that held us back a little.
With this being said, let me explain to you that neither of us are qualified to do this job and have no car audio experience - although we are a little knowledgeable when it comes to audio/tech stuff. With the kit it’s all moron proof - just take your time taking apart the car and it should all work out. I have no major problems with the result and the picture quality of the PS2 game we tested it with is INCREDIBLE. I thought it was gonna be ALOT worse, and I am lucky not to have those lines some people complain about with their set ups.
I would like to specify just 1 problem I had - after it was all hooked up and we tested it, we noticed that the right audio input wasn’t working. FM/AM/CD work fine as if it where stock - and no problems at all. Although when it is switched to SAT 1/2 either one, the right side of the car's speakers don’t receive input from the unit, if I switch the left audio rca to the right one on either input's (sat 1/2) it doesn’t pick it up, so I think I wired something wrong........not sure however. If anyone could please help that would be awesome. (The unit has 2 grounds coming out, one for input1 and other for input 2...I did ground them tot he same source, could that be a problem?...)
Let me also add, that I ordered a PER AAI-NIS auction from jerry903, he sent me a peripheral pxni unit instead, I hear it is the same exact thing as the PAC unit just different brand names, FYI: the Pac AAI-NIS is being discontinued for the time being, I called PAC themselves and asked where I could get one, because the unit was out of stock on every online store, and could be ordered from sound advice. They are however developing a new model to replace the AAI-NIS and it should be released soon, I guess they are just upgrading the unit. I think Shunra used the PXNI unit instead as well, and was experiencing some problems although I didn’t get the details.
enough chit chat - here are some photo's I took along the way, pretty self explanatory, and sorry for the back of the radio shot - was aiming for the back of the navi screen and didn’t realize I didn’t take a pic of the radio inputs it self.

Just to add something else, I decided to grab the spliced power/ground from the cig lighter and output them to a terminal to allow me to hook up any current and future mods I might need ground/12v for. This is all gonna be hidden but for now it’s late when I finished and ill hide that all tomorrow. As for the switch to toggle between stock navi and video input, I bought another switch im gonna mod the tv2n one that it came with, its just a basic metal flip, I think the one I got will look nicer and ill add it tot he right of the steering wheel, under and next to to left of the counsel I think.

If your not getting an output on one side or the other, you have a dfective audio module. I experienced this installing it on a forum members car and told him to send it back to jerry in which case jerry replaced it for him but charged him shipping only. There is no way you could wire RCAs wrong...it comes from the PS2 and goes to either right or left and doesn't matter if you accidentally reversed that right left stuff...they are signals only...
Looks great. Thanks for sharing the pics. I'm still waiting to install mine. I have everything but a DVD player (it's in the mail) so I am waiting to install all at once. How long did it take you to get the dash apart? I looked at it, and it seems like that's going to be the worse part of the whole install.
About your no sound prob...i agree with above, and it sounds like a defective unit, but you should try plugging your PS2 into like a TV or something and make sure that it is outputting both L/R audio...just to rule that possibility out. Hope you get it worked out.
Also, anyone know how much $$ a place would charge to install this?? I'm thinking of taking it somewhere due to my lack of time to do it.

ok, unfortunately I have a 2003..so I guess from your other post it's going to take me 1-2 hours!
Yikes! Guess I'll do what I gotta do...and follow docrons guide
...unless I can get it installed for $50 it's not worth my time. Thanks for the help though.

i have an 05 - it took me about 20 minutes to figure it out, and it was the first time i did it, its very simple
-pop up the stick shift frame (manual car btw)
-remove 2 screws fromt he side's
-pop up center armrest frame a little
-remove the sides
-unscrew radio frame scres (like 4-6)
-pop off clock frames, and remove the screw holding the unit
-done
then you gotta take out the glove if you wanna doa neat job - but its all simple, 20-30 min to take it all apart first time if you dont know i would say, if you know about 10 like gee said
i recommend doing the isntall yourself, its simple, and would save you about 400$ (dont know about where you guys are, but they estimated 1.2k to install a conversion on my navi

it's like right behind/under the ashtray. If you follow the center console forward and under the radio...this is the place you would be. So basically the lowest place you can get to that is underneath the radio unit. If you pop up the top of the center console around the shifter, you'll see it instantly. This might be different on a non-2003 G.
