The auto mode is meant to control the temperature for you. When you set it at 60 then move it to 61 it will try to heat from 60 to 61. The system does not care of you have the A/C on or off it will heat to the temp you specify. You really shouldn't have a need to be setting it to 60 anyway it doesn't help it cool any faster. If you want to force it make sure its in manual mode and you will have less problems.

I have the same exact problem and the in-cabin temperature sensor is connected correctly. Anyone fix the issue?

Double check the sensor, maybe it's loose, wire yanked out, or the contacts are corroded. I think your issue is most likely under your steering wheel, not positive on the sedan location though. Not sure, but there could be another sensor since we have dual zones.

I replaced the in-cabin sensor with another one and nothing has changed.

How /when did it start? Had any work done at the car around the time or what was the last work or service done on the car.

I have an 04 Coupe and this problem recently happened to me. Has anyone found a solution other than the in-cabin sensor?

Not yet, the Nissan dealer said my HVAC was fully functional. Let us know if you find anything.
