Thumbs up Thanks el_duderino and 4080

I just got my system installed on Monday and I have to say that I am very happy. I got the DLS UP6 for the front (thanks el_duderino) powered by a zapco 360.2 and a jl10w6v2 in the 4080 box (thanks 4080) powered by a zapco 500.1. The DLS are so sweet and smooth. I just can't believe that they sound so good in the non-ideal factory locations. And the 4080 box is amazing too. Perfect internal volume for a 10w6v2 imo. I know this thread sucks without pics but I forgot my camera the day of the install so I'll post some later. Right now, I have to get back out on the road and listen to my system again.

Oh btw, for those of you with an 05 non-bose coupe, there is something you need to know if you are planning to utilize your stock HU as the source. The signal from the front outputs of the stock HU are massively equalized. I don't know why only the fronts are, but when we tapped them for the signal via the zapco symbilink system, the midbass was complete mud. Apparently Infiniti decided that they would boost the bass for the front speakers to emulate sound quality. So we tapped the rears instead. Also, you will likely have to make spacers for the front midbass units. My oem front midbass units were built into the plastic spacers. I guess we could've tried to crack them open, but the spacers would have been destroyed and rendered useless in the process. My suggestion is to fabricate 1 inch mdf rings and try to center the midbass units carefully so that they are in-line with the cut-out in the door panel. Then they can seal properly with some foam gasket.

Again, my highest recommendation on the DLS UP6 from el_duderino and the box from 4080. Both ship very fast and are a pleasure to do business with.

Paul

Glad to hear it! Congrats!

Anyone in the Portland OR area with one of these non-Bose HUs, I will happily do an RTA measurement on the outputs for free so we can post the graphs on the forum. Just email us at g35driver@avincar.com.
