Subwoofer / Powered Sub Questions

As I just got my Kappas installed today, I have noticed the BOSE subwoofer limitations. So I ask, has any disconnected the BOSE sub and installed a powered sub (basslink etc). Just wondering if ths has been done and what the opinions of it were.

Thanks

Do a search on the forums

Many members have taken out the stock 6x9s and have replaced them with powered subs. Many choices are available. The best approach to your decision making quandry is as follows:

-Determine a realistic budget that covers the equipment and installation costs. With a more powerful sub, this may involve sound dampening.

-After a budget has been determined, conduct research on the appropriate tier equipment from various manufacturers to fit your tastes. This may involve searching this site to see what others have done, or going to other sites to get your own ideas. Visit car audio shops and see if a knowledgeable staff member can give you good advice.

Good luck
