Besides ebay, where to get audio stuff....

Hello everyone, I was wondering besides ebay and retail stores, where have you guys ordered your audio stuff? ie: speakers, subs, amps, etc..

I have been looking at
http://sonicelectronix.com/
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/
http://www.acaraudio.com/
http://www.partsexpress.com/

I've ordered from onlinecarstereo before but they dont seem to have the best prices. Anyone have good experiences from the other sites? any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

One more thing, a lot of ebay audio stuff are listed as "new". Anyway we can tell if the product is really new or not? I'm guessing the same could be said from various online stores as well...is it really new?

The local shop prices are definitely higher than what you get on the net (unless their your buddy), but also keep in mind, you buy from an authorized dealer who can service the parts and warranty them. I don't have a shop and don't even have a friend who owns one, and I also can't afford the retail prices most of the time, but I'm always concerned about what I would do if something does break with these expensive equipment - I've been wanting to add JL Audio amps to my car for a long time, and I know I can get them for $100s cheaper on the net, but been hesitant for this same reason since from what I understand, none of the on-line retailers are authorized JL Audio dealers.

El_Duderino's local shop is giving me f***ing great prices.
Highly competitive & in fact beating online retail prices, and still with full warranty's + extended on my eclipse HU because he is authorized dealer/installer. If you are close enough to portland or even if you're not, he's a great guy to talk to about getting whatever you need. Plus he can give you better advice than most shops and he has good first hand experience with the G.

Good luck

Local shop gets my vote. The prices arent "rape" theyre retail. Business owners have overhead, if they sell at or near cost then whats the point in being in business? How long do you think they will keep their business? We all need to eat.

If you feel confortable shopping online then feel free, but beforewarned your giving up your warranty, support, etc and still dont even know if you purchased genuine equipment. Not to mention, will the online shop still be there after they took your money? Or will they run like other "trusted" "well know" sites that have "been around for awhile so theyre ok to deal with."

Yes I am a business owner if anyone could not already tell.
