I am planning on making a cable similar to inivisicord's, so no risk or cost. We'll see how it goes, can't be all that tough. (famous last words)

i mean even if you make minimum wage, it would make sense to get the invisicord rather than use up 2+ hrs of your time playing with wires.

unless it's entertainment for you - that's another matter !

have fun!

just an idea, but is it possible to take the homelink rearview mirror and make some type of internal radar detector?

example:
1. Take apart a radar detector and strip it from its outer shell.
2. Take the homelink rearview mirror and take it apart also.
3. incorporate the radar circuit board and fit it behind the glass in the review mirror.
4. Drill hole in review mirror for laser optical lens
5. cut the rearview mirror glass for fitment of radars LED lights.
6. connect the power and ground to radar from homelink mirror.

7 . mount mirror and presto....Home link rearview with built-in radar detector.

I wish I had an extra homelink rearview laying around I would try this with a cheap detector to see if it works.

there is literally NO space inside the Homelink rearview mirror. SunsetZ33 on My350z barely got the V1 remote display to fit in there.... a whole radar detector would NEVER fit. see this thread

I got my 8" Escort/V1/Bel InvisiCord last week, and tried to install it with my V1. But, for some reasons... I could rarely push the pins into the slots... even I pushed it really hard, 2/3 of the pin is still outside of the harness. Did I do something wrong? And now, the contact between the pins and harness is not really stable that my V1 turns off easily whenever there is a speedbump... Can someone give me some suggestions? Thanks...

Did you note on your paypal payment that this was for a G35? I have two different connectors I use, the larger ones for most of the other vehicles types, and a special one for the G35/350Z. You may either send that back and I will get a replacement out to you, or you can use a hammer to further flatten those connectors, then dremel the sides down so they are about 1/16" wide.

What was your email ID used for the order, I can look it up.

TeamSpeed,

I should have read this thread before I place my order...
Anyway, I guess I will simply hammer and dremel it on the weekend. Or simply give it to my my friend who is going to get a rador dector in the near future.

Thanks for the replies, and I really appreicate your fast shipping.

I have an extra black phone cable lying around. I took the homelink connector off last night to see how small the connectors have to be. They have to be pretty small! My question is how DEEP does the connectors have to travel inside the housing to make contact? 1/4 the way? 1/2? 3/4?

Does anyone have a picture or p/n of the connectors they have successfully used? Thanks

Screw it. I just ordered one from your site. Do you know how long normal delivery is to Seattle? hehe

Got the order, it will go out tomorrow. First Class will probably take about 5-6 business days, USPS has been all over the place with shipping recently. You missed noting this was for a G35 in the order, good thing you posted here!

I can't seem to get the invisicord installed correctly. My V1 just stays on, even if the key is out of the ignition. Any suggestions?
