Thumbs up Coupe Front Door Speaker Template Here *download pdf*

Hi,
Major thanks to jeremyp111 for sending me this speaker template. I scanned it in for everyone to use. Make sure to print it with page scaling set to none. Just to play it safe I wouldn’t drill the holes until it’s lined up with your car. Enjoy…

Since 1" MDF is hard to find, you could use two 1/2" pieces and stack them.

Also, make sure to use foam tape on the front from the weatherstripping section in Home Depot.

Great, thanks speedgeek. I assume this should work for Sedan (both front and rear door) speakers as well? Does anyone know if this would be the same for Coupe and Sedan?

i don't think it's noted in the PDF but if you drill out the holes (about 3/4 of the way thru) with a countersink bit the same size as the head of the stock screws, you can mount your adapter using the same screws as the stock Bose speaker. you can see what i mean in the pic below....

Your 1 1/4 thickness should probably fit, at worst you will have to beltsand or plane it down a bit.

I just installed the JL Audio XR650-CSi with a 1 inch MDF spacer from ZEnclosures by Mike. He is on Ebay and the spacers work fine and fit both 350Z and G35 doors. The JL tweeters are a larger diameter than the stock ones. I just used the infamous Home Depot black weatherstripping between the stock metal tweeter bracket and the new JL tweeter to hold it in place. Took a little prying to get the bracket seperated from the stock tweeter.

Don't forget to put the weatherstripping in place between the speaker and the door trim panel. Keeps the sound from getting lost behind the trim panel. You will see some weatherstripping that the stock setup uses when you get your door panel off. I also used some thinner weather stripping on the back of the MDF spacer between it and the metal door frame to get a good seal.

Good luck.
