G35 Remote Start

I joined this site becasue I need some help finding a remote start and alarm for my 2005 6mt. An installer I went to said to get the pioneer one for the manual, but it was like 600 and the Compustar one I found on ebay was alot cheaper (around 250). Does anyone have any input on this? Anyone have a remote start installed on a manual G yet?

Thanks All!

I heard installing Remort start is not a good idea on a MT car. since you always need to remeber not to put it in any gear when you park ur car.

I don't park my car in gear anyways, so I am thinking of it. Dude just get a Viper system.

yes it is possible to install a r/s in mt. i currently have the compustar in my car. there is a safe mode which u have to put in reservation mode in order to remote start. yes it does suck but its safe. the range on compustar is crazy. goes thru any wall .. its awesome. i been an installer for 3.5 years, i had several different brands for alarm and remote starter in my past cars. but for the infiniti it has to be compustar, they are the best in range.

I have a Viper 791XV installed in my 6MT that won't remote start if I'm in gear. It really depends on how "good" your installer is, in terms of hooking up the remote start system.

compustar FTW. mile and 1/4 range. remote start designed for MT with safe mode. as stated before reservation mode must be saet in order to remote start, and if you even unlock your doors after be3ing set it will default to not remote start just incase someone knocked it into gear after the doors opened. few other goodies like turbo timers, and scheduled starts. When i was living in Minnesota i used the hell out of it(went to class and every 30 min car would start itself and run to keep thermostat warm. priceless watching people freeze their *** off with their car running for 40 min, while i hop in mine already blowing hot air.) Works great liviing back in New orleans, not opening your door and climbing into a sauna during the summer. HTH. hands down best alarm i have ever bought.

I have a Compustar also. The alarm itself isn't all that expensive.....it's all the labor to get it installed properly and with all the relays, bells and whistles. My total for mine ran about $750 OTD with a battery backed-up siren

I recently purchased an 05 g35 with a mt and wanted to get a remote start installed, but everyplace I went to said they no longer will do remote starts in cars with manual transmissions due to liability reasons. Has anyone installed one on there own, and if so do you have any pointers or wiring diagrams

If you get one of the new viper systems, they have a safe mode. A good installer knows this and should have no issue installing it. I have been doing installs professionally for 17 years and refused to do any manuals including my own until viper came out with their new setup. I never worked in a place that carried compustar, so I never got to work with them. After doing several transmissions vehicles I will tell you this: depending on the clutch setup and location of wires need to be gotten for the intergration, can bring your price up. Average price for a viper 5901 installed on say a 2003 honda civic that need a key interface along with tilt sensor/battery backup/glass break sensor ended up being around $850

+1

Nissans/Infinitis have a Neutral Safety Switch that your installer can tap into for 6MT remote start.

If you use the Neutral Safety Switch with your remote start it won't even activate remote start if the car doesn't show it's in neutral.

The problem is not finding a system that will work. It's been finding an installer that will do the work.
