Neon

I looking to buy a under car kit for the G. Ive noticed that neons have changed to LED's. Are they just as good as the old style? Anyone have these?

There was guy from Elk Grove who own an performance shop have Neon or LED on his G35 and he put up a vid with neon light do all kinds flash and sequencing, but his G had some issues I think with FI, havent see him post here for while tho.

Think LED tend to last longer than Neons and stronger, brighter too.

Found the thread but vid not working no more

i had some LED ones on my firebird. they are pretty bright and it could change colors with a push of a button. the ones i got cam with cheap plastic clips, i'd suggest finding a stronger way to mount them. the clips broke on one of my tubes and the light was dragging and broke, so i just took off the whole thing. i wish they made longer ones though. 4' just doesn't cut it, it's too short compared to the length of the car.

I love setups that use neons/leds/whatever for lighting effects, and you can see the light tube sarcasm The entire point of neon/led light tubes is to create a "glow" or splash of light. When you see the actual light source, it really defeats the purpose. So please, please, please, make sure you can't see the actual tube

I think on a show car, done right (G352NV seems to have a habit of this) will look really sweet.

For show purpose on your blue G, I'd go with white led to give it that sitting on a cloud look.

Well I was going to go blue. But a hyper white would look sweet! Again this is for a DISPLAY at shows.

Hey NV, I remember seeing a picture of a supposedly JDM 350Z with LED's underneath but they only act as mini spot lights under the car. I believe they are only available in white and they only reflect a white disc like shape on the ground (I believe 3-4 per side and I guess 2 each front n back). Looked kinda cool and different. I could have sworn it was on japanparts website but when I looked recently it was gone and I believe you can find the LED's spot kits on EBAY now.

Like I said, it's different....probably something that will grow on ya!

Thanks Ill check into that. The idea is to have sheet metal under the car and checker tiles around that as a boarder. I think the light would look tight under the car hitting the metal.

The only problem with the neon/led is that you have to find a place underneth the G35 to install them out of sight, will be hard to find space under the G35 for the normal size tubes, if you go small(2~3ft) it might not be bright enough.
