Bluetooth, Nextel i870, 06 Coupe, Choppy calls ?

First of all, I dug around the forum a lot and can't locate anyone with this problem. I have a Nextel i870 phone and an 06 Coupe. The BT phone systems works fine .... except .... I constantly get complaints that those on the other end of the call can only hear every other word. Apparently it is unusable as they have no clue what I'm saying. On the other hand, I hear them GREAT. I thought it might have something to do with coverage, but I can stop the car, call them back (without the BT) and it's fine. It happens regardless of how many bars I have. I realize it's not an Infiniti approved BT phone ... but what the hell .... other reports on this board lead me to believe non approved phones are working all over the place. I'd be happy to hear from anyone that is having this issue (and how it was fixed) regardless of phone make and service.

I have an 06' sedan with the same problem. I'm using a Motorola v710. I asked the dealership to replace the unit under warranty. They said they would at my next service. After they replaced it, I saw no improvement. I was thinking about getting a new phone. But after reading all of the posts on the mic being weak, I'm starting to think otherwise. It really makes me mad knowing that I paid 35k for something I can't fully use.

I have a Samsung A600 and a Blackberry. Both of these phones are paired to my car and both sound like crap to whomever i'm talking to. Another bad thing about the Infiniti Bluetooth is that if your phone ever disconeects from service, like going through a tunnel or something your phone will ring over your speakers (even though there is no call coming in) until you disconnect the bluetooth or turn your phone off completely. I cant drive 20 miles with out it doing this at least once.

This is a known issue. I've had approved and non-approved paired (a razr, pebl, and a ming) and it all sounds like I'm talking in a hole. From what I understand, the closer you are to the mic, the less of an issue it is. And yes, the ring through the speakers is highly annoying.

The problem is the coupe doesn't have a mic control. I'd be interested in finding out if anyone has successfully worked around the issue. What about using a fx, m, or aftermarket control? (I think the m has a mic control?)

Sitting on phone books give me a bad case of dork-itis, so I just don't use the thing.
