eclipse avn5435

I just purchased this unit. I have a few questions about it. Has anyone hooked up an ipod interface to this unit? If so, can you tell me the model and where you got it from?

Also, if you have shows or video on your ipod, can you see it on the eclipse unit?

Furthermore, can you burn downloaded music video onto a cd-r or dvd-r and play it on the unit?

Thanks.

periferal sells them. they work fine as long as you dont plan on using that and sirius on the unit. if you do the two kinda bleed together in sirius mode if you leave the ipod on. and yes you can view your video ipod on it if you get the AV cable and run it into your VTR input.

Does that one have on-screen control of the iPOD?

It would be for Infiniti, it would be for the AVN unit.

You could just use the iPC-106 and Sirius though.

the ipc-106 is not available yet and i don't want to get sirius. i want to use my ipod. so r u telling me all this based on something u actually saw online specifically or compatible with the eclipse avn 5435 or r u basing all this just "personal knowledge"?

Im basing this from dealer knowledge. The 5435 is not iPod ready, but if used with the Sirius tuner it will see it as a generic addon and will play/work fine. None says you have to subscribe to Sirius.

That is correct, I emailed Eclipse because I want to add the I pod adapter to my 5435. However, to get track, song, and artist you can use only Ipod or sirius not both. The other way to go is use the periphrial adapter. But if you use the Periphrial you sacrifice the Cd changer because it does not daisy chain.

Does the periphrial give you track, song and artist on the screen?

I have a 5495 so the changer inerface should be the same as the 5435.

Ok let's set the record straight.

Here is what you want:

http://cgi.ebay.com/PAC-AUX-POD-iPod2Car-Video-iPod-Nano-w-Eclipse-Cable_W0QQitemZ5880111889QQcategoryZ73836QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
That is a link to the PAC controller for the Eclipse Head Units.
The AVN5435 Will read the ipod input as a cd changer and you will have "track numbers" you will have no track information on the Head Unit.

My understanding is that this is exactly how the iPC-106 will work for the 5435 (although it gives track info on the 2006 HU's).

Rumor has it that Peripiheral will be releasing a new interface in the next couple of months that will provide full track info for AVN5435, but who knows what kind of validity that statement has.

For now the PAC controller is your best bet but you won't get track info on screen.
