It is easy to switch to other vehicles and it does not move around in the cubby. I have never used the suction cup, I have always found a compartment or convenient spot to put it in in other vehicles.

+3 on the Nuvi 350
I have had my nuvi for over a 4 months and love it. I have it placed it in 2 locations in my G and 1 is similar to where you have it placed. It has a couple a quirks that I have noticed but it is sweet
The only thing I wanted that it didn't have was Bluetooth and I guess the new 360 will have this. Oh well.
