How's everyone doing?

Sold a few of my amps (An Esoteric Audio E7056, a PG Ti600, a Zapco AG650, and 2 PPI amps)and recently did a bit of shopping!

I purchased a 4080 box, a JL10W6V2, AudioControl LC8, tinted my windows, 30 gig IPOD, and installed my clear corners.

Today I ended purchasing a set of Dynaudio 240MKII (brand new) and a brand new Soundstream Da Vinci Amp all for $1000!! What do you guys think, good deal?

This was an impulse buy : (
The chance came up and I jumped on it : )

Question will the Dynaudio fit in my G35c?
Any thoughts on the Da Vinci Amp?

I know my Esoteric was a top quality amp but ever since I laid my eyes on the Da Vinci a few years back I fell in love!

Also no more Audio Control LC8 (going in my bros Durango) for me, I decided to do a Double Din Swap : )
But I'm doing everything cash so I must save up some money for my HU, DD kit, and install : (

Any comments?

Thanks,
Carlos

Nice choice, although I also like your old E7 and Ti amps...

As far as fitment, the MW160 wont be a problem at all. The MD100s will for the factory spots. They are rather large unless ya wanna try glassing the sails. I went in the door, as the sail area gave too much reflection and a dash pad is not in my future.

Thanks for the reply Pearl05g!

Do you know anything about the Da Vinci amp? I know about five or six years ago it was a hot amp but I couldn't find any info online for it!

I know the Esoteric was an awesome amp but I had not seen a Da Vinci in years and had to have it!
I still have an Esoteric E7 series 2 channel, new in box (it is in storage)!

As for the Dynaudio should I install the tweeter in the door? I would rather do this as opposed to fiberglassing anything (I know it can get expensive). Do you have any pictures of any in door tweeter installs?

Thanks,
Carlos

Yea when I carried Soundstream I had the oppurtunity to play with a few of them among others. Definately a collectors item as well as those E7s. I think I would just hang em up on the wall for pure pleasure to look at. I only owned the 056 like yours, then went with the D7s when DA took em. Just wasnt the same though.

When I had the Dyn system in my car (360) I had the MD100s in the sails and just didnt like the way they angled down a bit, as well as the issues reflecting from the instrument cluster. When I removed them and threw in the CAL28 tweets I went high in the door right at the peak of the handle. Ill try to take a pic or two tomorrow for ya.

None that Ive run into on these cars. Then again I also ran the MW170s as well as Illusion Nd8s. The doors certainly have the space and now Im considering trying out the Elate 9s. Feel free to throw me some feedback on them, as Im a bit skeptical about pulling out my Platinums.

Ahh I was hoping for some reassurance before taking the plunge. Although the accomodation pricing is quite enticing.

Pearl05g, any pictures of the tweeter install?

I'm located in Southern California and was into car stereos a few years back!

I had a very good friend who changed systems in his car almost every six months and I would buy all the previously used equipment. He had four cars at the time, a Camaro SS, Range Rover, Acura RL, and a TT Supra!

What do you feel would be the best way to set up my system?

The Da Vinci is 7 channels 4x50, 2x100, 1x200 the sub channel can be 1ohm and 500 watts.

Can the tweeters and mid be powered seperately? Is this a good idea?

What type of wiring and RCA cables do you recommend?
Thanks,
Carlos

Thanks for the picture!!

I am not sure how to set up my car!!
What do you feel is best?

I have access to New Old Stock A/D/S components and coax speakers : )
They are in the old school boxes just waiting for me to pick them up!! Should I pick up a set for my rear?
If not what is the best set up I can use?

I am thinking the Da Vinci is kind of going to waste if I only use two channels for the front components and one channel for the sub!

I can also get two McIntosh amps at a great price again new old stock (I believe a MC430 and a MC427)

As for a HU not sure at the moment I have had good luck with Clarion ProAudio and Kenwood Excelon but that was a few years back! What is your thoughts on a HU? I do have an LC8 should I just use that?

I was trying to set up my car as simply as I could but the bug has bit again
: (

Thanks,
Carlos
