AAI-NIS2 vs. pa11-nis

So I've done a bit of searching and please correct me if I have any of this wrong:
The AAI-NIS2 will allow you to connect an line in signal through the SAT channel on the factory stereo. The upside is if you have Sat radio already you can still use it. The downside is that it is not made specifically for the iPod so there is no charging (without buying a third party charger of course) and you cannot use the steering wheel controls.

The PA11-NIS does everything the AAI does not do, but you cannot use it with the factory Sat radio.

Do I have this pretty much correct? My issue is I have Sirius and want to keep it, but I want all the features the PA11 offers. So am I pretty much screwed until someone comes up with a product that combines the best of these products?

Thanks

Yeah, pretty much. The Pa-11 does not work in conjunction with SAT. The AAI-NIS does not have any charging functions, and even if you couple it with something like the Blitzsafe charger/interface, you can not use the steering wheel/HU controls to control the ipod. Your best bet right now is to get the AAI-NIS 2 and the Blitzsafe interface, then you can have sat and charge/interface the ipod with the AUX input from the AAI-NIS 2.

cant u also change the plug of the sat so it can plug in to the aux input on the USA SPEC PA11-NAS? <--corrected

if you can, then u will have sat and a ipod that is charged and controlled by the stereo and steering wheel controls.

I was curious about that myself. But I would rather not spend the money just to test and find out it doesn't work. I also thought that since both systems seem to try to spoof the factory system, they might step on each other.

I think you mean change the plug so it can fit into the AUX on the PA-11, right? Because again, the AAI-NIS offers NO steering wheel control, it is simply an aux input converter. As far as that theory, I'm thinking that wouldn't work, because it is more than just a set of audio inputs; there is a control module that allows the changing of channels etc. At least that is my understanding.

sorry i edited it but ya i meant the USA SPEC PA11-NAS.

ok so does one of the plugs go into the sat plug?

and if so, thinking out loud here, would it be possible to build a switch to choose which one to be played on the stereo?

If needed, I have a brand new PAC-AAI-NIS2 in the box. It is the upgraded firmware and will work for those who have SAT. I decided to get the USA SPEC adapter. I'm looking for $95, shipped. Just throwing it out there.
