This just came out.... Anyone here get the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 Double Din installed in their G and how do you like it? I'm debating whether to get this or get a Big Brake Kit.

I know that the BBK costs over 2K more than the AVIC-Z1... some of my friends tell me to get the AVIC-Z1 because I have the stock bose system with no navi....what do you guys think?

This is a unit I have been witing to check out (among others). I don't think it is out yet. Crutchfield just added it to their site but it doesn't show an avaiable ship date. My stereo shop guy is going to get this unit as soon as he gets it stocked. He's the one telling me this will be a hot unit. He also told me he doesn't even have pricing from Pioneer yet!

Actually, I called a stereo shop and they said that it's available and they can order it when I'm ready. I just have to wait for my DD finisher & AC controller to get in....

I was just wondering if anyone got it yet... I can't wait to check it out!

I've been wanted to take a peak at this head unit as well. I'm also waiting for the Alpine IVA-W200 head unit. It is Bluetooth-Ready which means you have to purchase an extra module.

I've also been looking at the Alpine W200 (finally out), the Eclipse AVN5495, and the Clarion MAX675 (not out yet).

The Alpine doesn't have nav, but I don't have to have it.
The Eclipse doesn't have bluetooth built in.
The Pioneer seems to be a good unit.
The Clarion has everything I want but it isn't out for a couple more months.

Where have you seen the Alpine unit? I've been checking around the internet daily. Alpine's site indicates a March release but I can't find it anywhere. I think one site is taking pre-orders for it.

I haven't physically seen it in stores yet, but it is listed on several websites. Alpine and some of these sites list March as the release date as I'm sure you are aware.

Yeah, that's what I'm leaning towards.... I'll have more fun with the headunit, plus my car just takes me to work and back. It's not like I take it to shows or anything...

I don't know about Eclipse systems, I'll have to look those up.

I'd love to get the Z1. I have the D1 in my dash right now. Oh well, my D1 only ran me $1100, and then $100 for my external DVD player.

Would you get a Eclipse 5495 or the AVIC-z1?

And do you think the hack for the Z1 is the same as the N2 where you have to basically sodder two connection and ground the parking wire.
