Static

I just replaced the OEM head unit and i get a lot of static coming from the speakers. If i used a LOC, would it take out the static? Where would i put the LOC? before the amp or after the amp?

Also, I was looking at the service manual and i saw that each speaker has a sheild around it. It says that the wire is postive with 0 volts as a reference value. Is that what prevents the static on the OEM head unit? and if so, is there a way i can use that to get rid of the static?

I have the BOSE system without satallite.

Static just for Radio but not for CD? Or static for all signal sources?

A lot of folks (including me) seem to run afoul of the antenna amplifier that is located in the rear pillar on the drivers side in the coupe. I replaced speakers/amps but not the head unit and the radio reception is now lousy. Have yet to find the time to troubleshoot, but lots of others on the forum have had similar experiences. Not sure of the fix, most of the posts I read or searched on just had the symptom, but no fix.

For all sources...AM, FM, CD, AUX...all have static. Not the static that comes from bad reception, but the electrical static...due to power wires that run with the speaker wires, i'm guessing???

Does anyone know if there's a way i can use the sheild that comes with the factory system? More specifically...what do i connect those wires to? It says the wires are positive and i've hooked them to the acc wire, but the static is still there. acc wires has battery voltage and these wires are suppose to be 0 volts... where i can connect it to, to get 0 volts?
