Can you please give us a little more detail abotu where you bought the center trim from? Also did you have to replace the Bose speakers or are you still using them?

Red face Answers

Hi,

By center trim, do you mean the double-DIN piece or the trim filling the space around the frame of the head unit? In either case, the double-DIN piece I bought off another G35'er who was parting out his car (I also bought the AVN5435 from him). As for the trim filling that extra space around the head unit, I had a custom piece fabricated to fill all the way around.

As for the OEM Bose speakers, this head unit worked seamlessly with them.

^nice Setup........i Have The Same Unit Installed In My Car Like A Month Ago (thanks Inno!).

Where Did You Have The Trim Frabricated? I Need To Have That Done Too And How Much Did You Pay For The Frabrication.

Also, I Have The Bose System As Well, However I've Noticed That I Have To Crank The Volum Up To Like Volume 50 And Over To Get Any Decent Sound (whether I'm Listen To Cd, Radio, Or Ipod). Do You Have That Problem? Btw, I've Played/adjusted With All The Eq, Pos, And Loudness Settings, But Nothing Seems To Really Help Increase The Volume Loudness And Output. Most People Said When They Installed An New Hu They Got A Lot Better Sound From Their Bose........i Have Not Been As Fortunate.

Thanks.

Cool ...

I had the trim fabricated at a local custom wheel/audio/video shop. It was about $125 for parts/paint/labor.

As for the audio, yeah I noticed that I do have to get up to about 30ish to get some serious volume. Did you enable the loudness setting in the AVN5435 config screen? I'd check that first. Otherwise, I suppose it's not terribly loud but I'm not too **** about superior quality audio so I can live with the output. It can probably sound better but I'm happy with it...

Nice ghetto install! Why didnt you get the JDM OEM double din trim piece w/ ac controller? Would have mounted much more flush than what you currently have. I'll post some pics of my setup that g35riderC did for me tomorrow.

It is JDM OEM you clown...from the Skyline

Obviously you know nothing about these types of installs. Do your research before you open your mouth unless you like the taste of your yellow crunchy socks.

The whole positioning thing is really a product of which holes and which brackets you use, as I recall. The closer-to-flush look can be acheived by redrilling the slots slightly. If you drill them too far the screen hits the bottom of the bezel.

I didn't muck about with it.

Actually...

I paid an installer to hook it up for me. I'm no expert with this type of work and I didn't want to chance jacking up my car! All in all, I'm happy with the outcome!

I know enough about them so that I don't go around purchasing a 05 and up finisher for my 03-04 and vice versa....you should do your research before trying to save money by getting used parts and getting wrong parts all the time.

Eclipse actually designed it that way on purpose; at max volume there should be no clipping. I was thinking the same thing when I first got my 5500..."the volume is at 40 and I can barely hear!"
