My 2 bits,

you don't need the new bracket, you will have to drill some holes in the stock bracket.

I put my HU near the top of the opening so there was no gap at top or sides only bottom. Then used a little piece of abs plastic maybe 1/3inch across the bottom gap. it looks fine no one would ever notice.

Other things you need:
New speakers and amps! If you are upgrading your system to this extent you should get better speakers.
Are you going to be using and ipod? if so the eclipse ipod controller is your best bet.

oh yeah: here is a DIY for taking apart the dash, I used this DIY my first two times taking apart the dash, now i know how to do it and it's easy, but this DIY is really good for the dash disassembly.

thanks... i think i have all the parts on order. just waiting for everything to arrive and then the fun will begin!!!

as for the speaker and amp upgrade... this navigation took away most of my play money and summer's coming. i'll have to hold off till winter or next year some time. still undecided on what i would put in anyways.
