Hey peeps.
I was wondering if anyone ever came up with a fix for the treble/bass memory problem that kicked in with the '05 G35's?
For those who don't remember, the symptom of this problem is that you might set the treble at +5 and the bass at +3 and everything sounds peachy. Then you park and shut off the car. Come back 10 minutes later and while the settings still SHOW +5 and +3, the sound doesn't reflect it. By going to each setting and going "down one" and "up one" there is a sudden, massive difference in sound. This seems to be most noticeble with the treble, especially on CD's. So basically, it saves the setting in the display but the sound quality doesn't stick until you reset it. Annoying as all hell.
Anyone?

I don't know if it's because I never noticed the problem before, but for some reason starting a couple of weeks ago, I notice it EVERY SINGLE TIME I get in the car. I did remember a couple of months back something strange happened to the radio. It was playing just fine, then I started up the car, sound came back but then the radio just shut off and I couldn't turn it back on. I had to stop the car, take the key out of the ignition, and then start the car back up. Then the radio played again.
Like I said, I don't know if it's because I never noticed it before or what, but it's starting to annoy me. It seems though if you put the settings to it's max, and then you turn off your car, it'll automatically take it down 2 notches.
Weird. I too would like to know if there's a fix for it.

I am not aware of any fix either. I just leave Base at +1 and Treble at +5. It's not a fix but its better than having to adjust it every time you turn on the car. I recall that some people were going to get theirs replaced by the dealer. Hopefully they can provide an update.
Gotta be better than the 03.
It sounds like an AM radio in a 73 Buick. What a POS Bose made.
My 95Q45t has a BADASS Bose system. Hell, my 95 G20t sounds good.
Way to take 10 steps back, Infiniti.

I'll bet you don't even realize you HAVE a problem. Next time you get in, all you have to do is turn up the volume past 21 and the sound will come back. A bitch to be sure, but you could always leave the vvvv's up to 23 so you don't have to remember.
hey guys i think im suffering from the same problem but with a different twist... i have an 03 g35 coupe brembo package... the cd player went out bc of the CD ERROR crap so i bought another HU and i believe its different from an 03 HU. I think its either a 04 or 05, but anyway the HU works fine with all the buttons, but the only problem is that im not hearing any bass and i can turn the volume all the way up to 31, the distortion is horrible and screeches alot( with all settings: radio, cd, cassette, etc.) Am i unable to reset this manually besides doing the volume pass 20 and the bass and treble down +4 and back up? bc those two doesnt reset my HU at all. is there a reset button that is hidden so i can push to reset the whole HU? or maybe disconnect a battery for a long period of time? i tried to disconnect the batter for like 2 mins but it still suffers the same problem. Please help if you can. thank you in advance ~ jim
Sorry to post in an old thread, but i figured this would be the best thread to post my issue in.
I've been having this same bass/treble bug for as long as I can remember and I always mess with the audio settings to fix it every time I get in my car. I complained to the dealer about it and I even demonstrated it to them, but they didn't even hear it or believe me. After talking to the service manager, he confirmed that it was a known issue because my service guy didn't know of the problem. The mechanic, who was unfamiliar with the issue, concluded that it was a capacitor problem which did not allow the radio to keep audio memory settings when the car was turned off. He said that if you turn off the radio before you turn off the car it will keep its memory. Anyways, he acknowledged that it was a known issue and they ended up putting in the new radio 2 days ago. I asked them if they tested the new unit for the same issue and the service guy said they probably did. I tried testing it out after they installed it, but I had trouble recognizing any problems. Today I tested it again with my friend in the car and we both said we still heard the sudden increase in bass when the audio settings were flipped back and forth after turning on the car. Is it possible that I've gotten a brand new radio with the same exact bug?
If anyone with this issue has any method of fixing this please post it. If not, do you guys think it would be worth it bringing it back to try fixing it again?
