Amp kit

Hey,
I need to know which wires/kit i will need for my 2 amps and 2 subs. So far i have gottan p8002 which is for 2 subs and p4004 which will be for the infinity speakers.
I dont know much about car audio so could someone tell me which amp kit i will be needing? Will i need speaker wires?

This is what the shop said "YOU WILL NEED A FULL 4 GUAGE WIRING KIT, 3 PAIRS OF RCA CABLES, & SPEAKER WIRE TO RUN FROM THE AMPLIFIER TO THE SPEAKERS, & IF YOUR AMPLIFIERS DO NOT HAVE SPEAKER LEVEL INPUTS YOU WILL ALSO NEED AN IMPEDANCE ADAPTOR. YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO INVEST IN A CAPACITOR AS IT WILL HELP WITH POWER DISTRIBUTION & IMPROVE SOUND QUALITY. "

SO my question is,wouldnt a amp kit will have rca cables, etc?
btw which one should i buy?
thnx

They sounded smart until the part about the cap. You can do it a couple of ways. Not sure what kind of amps those are, or what the power rating is, but you could buy the wire individually. Are you using the stock HU or an aftermarket one? You'd probably need 2 or 0 AWG from the battery to a distribution block, then 4ga to each amp. Then another 4ga from the amps directly to the ground, or to a distribution block and then 2 or 0 ga to the chasis. It really depends on how much current those amps are drawing. You may only need 4ga to 8ga. You can go even further than that and get a fused distribution block (recommended). Stinger makes some nice amp kits, but there are cheaper alternatives too.

I asked them how much they have a amp kit for, their selling for $69cdn.
He said they would do it to power up 2 amps. Like i said i dont know much about car audio. I have spend little over $1600 on this and i dont want it to get flop due to cheap wires i have gotten.

Khson, Should i also look more into CAPACITOR? These rockford amps are mostly rated less then they are. So if its 800watts, it should be around 1000wats i think..not sure, but i';m just pulling a number top of my head.

oh yea its a stock amp, i'm installing a ipod into it, not sure if that will change something.

Should i go with this?

My suggestion is no capacitor. Try it without one. If you notice your lights dimming or car bucking, then consider it. Even before that, I would consider a new battery and upgrading some of your wiring first. Caps are more of a band-aid for the underlying problem. As far as wiring goes, the kit you pictured is more intended for a single amp, and it is 4 guage from the battery back to the trunk. Are you running the 4004 at 2ohms or 4ohms? Just taking a quick look at the amps, and not knowing current draw, I would say you'd probably be OK running 4ga back to the amps, then 4 guage to each amp. If you want to play it safe, run 2 or 0ga back to the trunk, then 4ga to each amp. You need a fused distribution block to go to each amp. Like this:

Also you need a fuse at the battery, but that kit you pointed out includes one. You need to find out exactly how much current the amps draw. Check your owners manual.

Hey guys, I'm kinda in the same boat. I bought 4080's box, a JL 10W6v2, and a JL 500/1. To hook it up, I went with the JL 4 gauge kit XA-PCS4-1 (second one down on the link below). Do I need anything else to install it? I noticed that I didn't get twisted RCA cables in the kit. Is that necessary if I'm going to splice into my existing pre-Bose amp line (I'm keeping the Bose amp to run my front speakers).

I'm thinking about keeping my coaxial rear speakers in place for imaging so I don't know how that will interfere with the subwoofer adjustment. Any thoughts on this? I've already upgraded the fronts w/ Infinity Kappa components and may consider another JL 300/2 amp if I'm not satisfied with the sound after my sub goes in.

Sorry for thread jacking, but hopefully this will shed light for everyone that may have questions.
