TrackDAZE
We just did an interview with Jack Baruth from Speed:Sport:Life. If you have never checked out his columns I would definitely do so because you can learn a ton about driving better. Anyway he thinks that TrackDAZE is a great way to get started and I wanted to see if anyone had done an event with them.

Trackdaze (www.trackdaze.com) puts on a safe and fun HPDE event! I've driven event with them at VIR and always had a great time. If you're in the Advanced Group you can pass anywhere on and off line with a "point by". Good bunch of people. Mike

Hey guys, TrackDaze has released their 2009 schedule as well as opened registration for the first event of the year. These guys are by far the safest and best organization out there. No hidden fee's, and cost per amount of track time can't be beat anywhere, and they don't pack the groups so there is plenty of open track.
Jack also wrote an article about them and its been posted on their site.
March 2-3 Virginia International Raceway Full Course: 3.27 Miles

We have released information about Season Passes for 2009. The more events you pre-purchase the better the discount.

Hell I wouldnt mind going just to see the variety of cars there. I doubt I can afford it, but we'll see.
Its no so much the cost to do it, but the added cost of wearing tires, brakes and fluids. I guess I can ultimately set the pace, but then it comes down to am I really getting my monies/times worth if I'm driving my car at 60% pace.
We'll see, like I said I may just go to scope it out.

I think everyone should do a track day or two, it's a great learning experience. The added maintenance expenses aren't a big deal unless you get hooked so the track fee will be your biggest expense.
Not sure if it's the club or the track, but at Summit Point Trackdaze tends to get the hardcore crowd...lots of older modified cars (GTIs, RX-7s, Miatas, BMWs)...friendly and knowledgeable crowd... but not many exotics. We'll see who turns up for NJMP.
