Calabogie Motorsports!
Hey all, I am pretty new to your wonderful forum, and for the people that are not from my new of the woods (Ottawa, Ontario) I want to show you a little treasure buried pretty close by.
I recently bought a G35 Coupe 2 weeks ago, 6 speed, Brembo package, with 1 reason in mind. (well 2)
Something to drive in the winter, for the 4-5 weeks that I am home and need a car. and a reliable track car (More reliable then my Stage 3 Audi S4)
I plan on going S/C, with V3 coils and possibly a Brake upgrade (If I feel I cant get buy with a set of the stock brembo's and some HPS pads)
Ive already started buying parts (Just bought a HKS Hi power exhaust, high flow cats and headers, a set of V3's and am currently researching a S/C)
Anyways, About Calabogie.
Beautiful track, beautiful surrounding and new (Less then 6 years old) it is a 5.05-kilometer (3.14 mi) race circuit 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) east of the community of Calabogie, Ontario, Canada.
The inaugural race of the GT3 Cup Challenge has been held from May 14 to May 15, 2011. This marked the first time the Challenge, which held 120 events and 255 championship rounds in 2011, was brought to Canada.
The Park has also been used as a testing track for the Harley-Davidson XR1200.
Here is a video of myself driving @ the track in my Stage 3 S4. (I am a novice driver, so I know, my lines are terrible)
Here is a video of my friends Ariel Atom on the track.
If anyone finds themselves in Canada in the Ottawa region this upcomming summer, Message me and ill send you some information to join one of the many inexpensive track or lapping days that are available.
Has anyone else been here? I know RandomHer0 has, it was his G35 that made me look into getting one myself.

That is an awesome looking track, maybe I'll try to come out there around summer time if the 8 hour drive doesn't scare me away.
I would recommend you shy away from the s/c upgrade and become familiar with the G on track first. The stock brembos are very adequate on track as long as you have the right pads and fluid. The Hawk HPS pads are not meant for track use and will not do (HP+ would be better but even those are meant more for auto-x as opposed to mid to hi speed track use), try using something like carbotech XP-10/XP-8 combo. Also I would recommend some brake ducts, here's my setup using NISMO carbon fiber ducts and home made carbon fiber inlet ducts:
Cheers!

the S/C is comming reguardless. I used to have a 400whp 300ZX, and my S4 is 550hp (11.7 1/4 mile times)
Im confident that I can handle a 400hp G... but never over confident.
I used Hawk HPS last year for the track on my S4, they are great once they are heated up. The actual time spent on a track is limited to 30 mins on then 30 mins off (They have 2 groups on the track, one advanced, and 1 novice)
HP+ are too noisy for everyday use. (this will be a track car and an odd weekend car)
Ill def look into the ducts though.
