Just got back from the New England International Speedway event today... it was such a technical course with elevation changes, lots of gear changing, and a short straightaway but overall it was fun!! (Some called it a mini autocross) The highest gear I went to was 5th from the straightaway then there was a tight left hander that u had to basically heal-toe from 5-4-3 Was nice. Got to see two other G35s out there... the Toyo Proxies RA1 held up pretty well, once I got about 2 laps in the pressures were higher and I noticed an increase in grip.... getting a point out for passing from a Ferrari was priceless

With the top of the right foot on the brake peddle and the heal area (of the right foot) quickly swings and blips the trottle to rev match and downshift properly.
I belong to another mailing list and there was a recent fatal accident at NHIS. I think it was an E30 M3. Did you know about it? or was it the week after you went?
Slightly off topic, but I just tried r-compounds (Yokohama A032R - I wanted RA-1's, but Tire Rack does not carry them and I was buying wheels at the same time) on my E30 M3 at Lime Rock and "wow!" is all I can say. Next, I think more than looking for HP, I'm going for racing seats and a 5 point harness. My instructor said that was the best mod he did.
A beetle(!) in the experienced group crashed (probably totaled) as was the back end of a 911.
Back to Heel and Toe - why didn't you just go from 5 to 3 and rev match? With synchros, you don't need to go down sequentially or did you need 4th gear for a short time? I heel/toe all the time (street too), but my instructor never did in his E36 M3 and it didn't seem to make a diff. I also double clutch - means you blip the throttle in neutral before downshifting - but I don't really need to. I find that if you double clutch and get it right, the car remains balanced and then add braking for heel/toe - all is well.
One day I may take the G35 on the track...but the M3 is already there and you have to remember even in an HPDE, there is always the chance of losing it (control and the car).
drive safe.

i wanted to try it out with some really late braking coming out of a straight into a S curve, no fatalities when i went must have been one before didn't hear about it... but i did hear about a ferrari/911 fatality incident in CA a couple weeks ago basically the story is that the grid waiver told the person to go and the waiver said hold on and the guy just took off anyways.... the G held on pretty nice NHIS is a very technical course, learned a lot there, i'm going back next season in the evo9
