Wiring help

hey guys im new to car wiring and i was wondering if you wiring genius's can help me out. im trying to do this to my headlights:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=980547339061120203
the video seem simple enough but the wiring to the car is the part i dont understand. i was wondering if you guys can tell me how to do it. or if i can just have a seperate power source and switch for them instead of using the cars electronic system.

thanks in advance

what you'll need to do is take that positive LED lead, and wire it to your parking lights, if you want it so that the they only come on when you have your parking lights on, or connect it to a switch inside the car you can wire it to the switch, then go from the switch to your constant 12v at the main ignition harness

Then negative wire and wire that to you chassis for the ground.
