04 350z Shocks vs. 05 G35 Sport Tuned Shocks
04 350z Shocks vs. 05 G35 Sport Tuned Shocks
i'm planning on running 350z s-tech with either front stock 350z shocks or my sports tuned G shocks. the s-techs are already in the 350z shock so i wouldn't have to get a compressor, which is very helpful. in the back would be My G's stock shocks. which should i use? is there a difference at all? is it worth all the extra trouble to use the G shocks? thanks!!
You may not like this, but it's what you need to know.
03/04 oem Z shocks = bounce and porposing. Even when run with springs that are progressive, like the front Z S-techs. Kinda ironic that the best spring choice for them offers a simular drop, Hotchkis.
Sedan sport shocks with Z S-techs = not enough shock control, especially in the rear. I absolutely do NOT recommend running them with springs as stiff as the Z S-techs. Not to mention that the oem sedan shock is 3/4" taller in length and more importantly piston stroke, simply not enough bump travel at that kind of a drop (-1.6").
You will want to either find a set of 04.5+ revised oem Z shocks, or invest in Tokico D-specs.

thanks, i knew u would chime in.
i actually have the coupe sports shocks, i don't know if theres a difference between that and the sedans. but i just got the springs and 350z shocks for a very very cheap price, and i wanted to know which of the 2 shocks i have is better. this is only a temp. setup and i do plan on getting d-specs and camber kit and diff. spring in the short future. could you suggest which is better, 05 coupe sports shocks or 04 (not sure if revised or not) 350z shocks? thanks
