Clicking sound when going over bumps?

I read many posts about how people have had clicking noises from the rear when accelerating from a stop. However, I hear a click/clunk from from the driver's side rear when I slowly drive over bumps (ie. backing out of my driveway, driving over speed bumps). Is this related to the rear axle? or is related to something else (I have aftermarket springs and shocks, rear camber arms)?

i have a 2004 sedan and think i have the same problem. I hear mine when i go over small bumps on the road or driveway. It wasnt bad at first but it progressively got worst that i could hear it all the time when im driving. It got louder where you can actually hear it when you are out of the car and someone else is going over the minor bumps. I read on other threads about similar problems and kinda got an idea whats wrong with it. I am getting my car checked next monday at the infiniti dealer and i will post what they find.

Heres that thread

I had the same problem when I changed the sways to 350Evo's. I had a clunking noise. I checked out the nuts and bolts and found issues. However, I checked again with the wheels off and raised the hubs/rotors... to lessen the weight and low and behold the upper swaybar endlink was loose on the drivers side. I tightened it up and noise is gone. Maybe try this??

What's this compression rod problem? Is there a TSB on that?
I got the same noise. Definitely not the axle. I also have some squeaking noise coming from front and rear suspension...my guess is that my Hotchkis sways are making those annoying noise because I have them for over a year now. Maybe these clunking noise is related?
I'm gonna have a look tomorrow morning.

JbirdsG35, can you update us when you get back your car from Infiniti?

sorry guys but i totally misread ryanwiggums post.
i still have sotck parts on my car and his problems are for after market parts

but if you guys want to know what the problem was on my car, its was my my struts and they are shot. Which is weird, i live in laguna niguel, ca. and there are like no pot holes here, i drive carefully and its only my rear driver side struts. oh well its covered

i did ask about creaking/ clicking sounds in general and the tech told me it might be the following
-Spare tire in the back, make sure its tight(my reaction was WTF!?) but i guess its possible

-Rear seat back support brace, again my reaction is WTF. He said that some G35 had this problem. 1st time hearing this but i found this
http://infinitihelp.com/Ownership/Bu.../ITB03-046.htm
then i found this
http://infinitihelp.com/Ownership/Bu.../ITB05-002.htm
- worn out bushings

He said try regreasing bushings like other members have suggested in forums or try re installing after market shocks. he said most of these noise problems with aftermarket parts are unavoidable but not necessarily unfixable so guys, sorry if this was no help but i guess keep searching this forum for answers. good luck

I was going to check the brace in my rear seats but I guess it's only applicable to sedans? Oh wait...coupes don't have rear seat brace duh?
