New Rotors/SS brake lines (installed)
New Rotors/SS brake lines (installed)
Hey everyone
I just got done yesterday installing my new Rotors (from rotorworks) and and stainless steel brake lines from Earls, I have as yet to reall ride on them, I bedded the pads in again with these new rotos ( I had just put new HPS Hawk's in).
Anyway I was a little surprised by how much junk the old lines and fitting amount to, it is definitly cleaner setup than stock.
And to maek things a hell of alot easier I used a Hand pump that you can buy from Autozone which makes bleeding the brakes alot less time sweaty and time consuming.
One thing I was not entirly sure about was the direction of the drilled rotors, I had read that the rotors need to turn so that the vanes are spiraling into the oncoming air, to better cool them, so consequently I installed them with the spiral patter rotating forward, if this is not correct someone please let me know.
One thing I do have to say about the Earl's SS lines that I liked was the swival ball joint that connects to the front shock mounts, this I thought was a great idea because it allows the line to move when the front wheels are turned, I don't know if any of the other brake kits have this, I thought it was great feature though and will post pics to show everyone.
last thing was the bleeding, I started on the inside bleed point of each caliper and bleeded each point 4 times with the pump, filling up the cup that attaches to it, man ! thats 32 times all around, and on the last one, number 32 the lever on the pump breaks, well thats 30 bucks in the trash, but I must say well worth it (might have been the heat, I have the sunburned shoulders to add to the damage).
So anyway I will post the pic's

Ah crap, I just read the Stoptech's directions on their site and I think I see my mistake on the Rotors, the inner vanes are sprialing oppisite to the dirction of the drilled spiral, shi! now I have to go through changing them out, damN
The pic of your front looks right. If thats the front passenger side, then it correct. If the rear is your rear passenger side, then you need to switch the rotors.
Other than that, everything looks real nice! I've been debating whether or not to get the Earl's lines, they are the cheapest. Looks like you just helped me make my decision!
