Good info about Rotors

A friend showed me this article which has some good info about so called Big brake kits and driller rotors

http://www.teamscr.com/rotors.htm

kind of goes against the popular view of rotors going around

If you found that article interesting, you may want to look at some of the technical whitepapers in the tech section of our website. James Walker Jr of SCR who wrote the article you linked helped in writing a significant amount of our whitepapers along with racing legend Caroll Smith:

I thought he might have got that from Stoptech, I had made the mistake of getting the single pirce drilled rotors to replace the worn OEM ones I had, and now I am regretting it with those drilled holes getting a light film of rust color
it's not too bad until you look close but I am pretty **** about it so it is bothering me, I did check out your site and plan on getting the two piece slotted rotors down the road.

Yes, every tiny component of every system has hundreds of engineers [some over lap between companies and manufacturers---some sharing of data] focused on each component.

I amazes me people throw away expensive oem sound deadening/vibration dampening INSULATIVE brake pad shims when they won't fit on some junk pads they paid double or triple for as oem replacements.

Same with Chinese mass production copied rotors using low cost grey iron without enough Silicon additive.........they ring and vibrate [sound noise] like crazy but they look PERFORMANCE because they have holes or slots and cost a lot.

OEM spends lots of engineering time on sound reduction [noise is a serious customer issue].........of all the things customers complain about BRAKES and Tires [noise and vibration] tops the list.

I had to review a 100,000 brake pdf for work here is some more useful info.

THE POINT IS there is a lot more to brakes than trusting some web forum or another individuals non expert recommendation about pads.

People seem to think because pads/rotors sound exotic, cost alot, or are from some big brand name that that alone is reason to buy them.
