coilovers? shocks? what?

my weak point of mods is suspension. Someone please explain what is so different about the various suspensions setups.

Im clear on rigidity items like sway bars and strutbars, braces, etc. I need help on what to get as far as lowering my car just a bit, maybe .75 of an inch or so.

what the primary diffs are in coilovers or going with tein shocks or something.

Tein doesn't sell shocks, they sell coilovers.

You can get springs to lower you car. This is pretty self explanitory.

There are shocks/struts that you can replace with springs, but these do not effect your ride height, only the stiffness.

Then there is a coilover, which is an adjustable spring and shock put together.

OK got your PM, coilovers seem the way to go for a subtle drop BUT what will this do to the ride of the car? I have NEVER had suspension work done other than strut bars and sway bars before.

Coilovers help with the ride, make it more sloppy, dont affect it at all, better cornering, worse cornering? what?

thanks for helping with this, ready to learn.

Generally coilovers will definately give you better handling.

How they feel in terms of stiffness, etc vary. There are so many diffrent kinds out there aimed for diffrent purposes. One of the nice things about a coilover though is that its so adjustable. You can fine tune it to just how you like it. They carry a very large price tag though.
