Installing CoilCovers

I want to lower the car and put some 19" rims on. Would it be easy to install what ever i need to do this on my own or am i better off getting it done at a dealer?

Also what do you guys recommend to purchase for lowering the car?

Lowering your G..........

There's a bunch of factors involved here.......how much are you willing to
spend........how low do you want to go........I bought my wheels/tires first
with the correct offset so I could lower my G without having to mess with
the wheel openings. Then you can order coilovers like Tein plus all the
other items to bring your alignment back to factory specs from Stillen. It's
a costly process.......shop around on this site there's lots of good buys.
If your smart you'll find a reliable shop to do the work, stay away from
the dealership!

I've got Tein Basics, SPC front and rear camber adjusters and Stillen sways..the car rocks and rides great!

I love the Tein as they are height adjustable. Great advice to buy rims and tires first though...if you want to adjsut damping forces though..you'll spend more for Tein EDFC or other coiovers.

For what exactly?

Coilovers - require height adjustment and alignment as well...that total cost can be about $400 or so. Height adjustment is time consuming and you need to align it after. then you have to wait about 2 weeks...and re-adjust and align again as the springs and shocks settle.

You should do sways and camber kits at the same time. Most of everything is coming apart anyways and you'll save on labor a multiple alignments.

I plan on installing the tein basic coilovers and the front and rear cambers myself. My car is put away for the winter so Im wondering if I just install the coilovers and cambers and leave the car for the rest of the winter and then bring it first thing to get aligned, will I be all set?

I answered your PM about this.

Generally though, you likely will not get the full settling effect. They need to be expanded and contracted, with the weight, for about 500 miles. You'll still need 2 alignments to be sure of everything. Also, the only real adjustment I noticed was Toe.
