Clank sound when braking

I was wondering if anyone else had heard of a problem where you hear a metal clang sound when you come to a complete stop. I think it might be my brakes but I am not sure really. Anyone else heard of this before?

You should first narrow it down to front or back, have someone ride with you and try to figure it out. Once located to specific wheel, check the torque settings of your lugs. If it is all good you should take the wheel off and inspect the hub area where your rotors are. Pull on it move it side to side and listen for clicking. Inspect your brake components carefully.

I had a similar problem but was the opposite. Everytime I was moving at freeway speed there was this annoying metal clanking sound that went away when brakes were applied. Took it to the dealer 3 times and they couldn't fix it. I checked myself and turned out to be rotor damage on the inside.

good luck

Actually mine is comming from the front right wheel well. I am taking it in to the dealership to have it looked. I posted a thread similar to this and I think i hgot in answered.

But if it was comming from the rear, then it could be the axle. Otherwise, it might just bee new brakes.
