Help, curbed my new rims :(

Well I done and did it, bought me a new set of rims this summer 18" black with chrome lip. I was in an argument with the girlfriend on the phone and wasn't watching the road doing about 20mph and grazed a curb . Damage isn't too bad but both rims on the passenger side are scraped. Anyone know of a shop in New Jersey area who fixes rims, or possibly a way for me to fix it on my own? Any suggestions would be appreciated... thanks!

Are the chrome or polished? If they are chrome, you are SOL, and they will have to be stripped and rechromed. If they are polished, depending on the coating, they can be fixed if the damage isn't too bad

Hit my first curb today in my 06 G35 Coupe with OEM 10 spoke 19" wheels. Guy from Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists (http://www.mobilewheelrepair.com/) is scheduled to fix it next week.

These folks have franchises nationwide. Has anyone had any experience with them? He ballparked the repair at around $100. Said he'd grind down the rim rash, scuff the rim, repaint it and then clearcoat it.

Going to his "gallery", looks like he photochopped half of the rims he is showing.... that's just a little shady....

Just curbed my first wheel this morning on my 07 Sedan. Called up the guys at mobilewheel repair and was quoted for $85

I was quoted for $125 at another place where they send the wheel out to another shop for repairs and will take 2 to 3 days.

$85 for a split second with the curb...

Btw, I called the dealer to see how much a rim replacement would cost.

.... $900 for one rim!!!!!

I guess $85 is not so bad then...
