I can not believe it...we took delivery 3/26 at 6pm. I washed car this morning. Found that my wife has mildly rashed both passenger side rims...she doesn't know it yet, out grocery shopping. It is her car, I haven't driven on street yet only in drive to pull in gargae and out of garage to wash it. She didn't want to drive my Vette for fear of rashing the wheels on that AGAIN, had done it once before. (she shoulda kept her suv)
I'll be finding out a cost this week.

My wife had to borrow my car for a few months 'cause of a temporary job transfer that would have cost us an arm and leg driving an SUV for the gas. Although it pained me, I knew I had to let her use the G (not that the G is a great gas saver, but better than a 10-year old Grand Cherokee). As I handed her the keys, I reminded her to park in spots where there were no other cars, etc (She's used to us walking the extra distance when we go to shopping malls since I park out in BFE).

The first few days, every night after she would get home, I would "casually" walk a circle around the car, inspecting it for dings, etc. After I got home from work on day three, I noticed she decided to park out front instead of our garage. So, I walked outside to do my usual inspection and noticed right away that the car is parked RIGHT SMACK NEXT TO THE CURB!!! Both passenger side rims were scratched to high heaven. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists and stormed inside.

"HON, DID YOU SEE HOW YOU PARKED THE CAR?!?!? YOU CURBED THE DAMN RIMS!!!! THEY'RE SCRATCHED!!!!"

"I did what?," she replied. "What are you talking about?"

"THE F*CKING CAR!! YOU HAVE THE CAR THREE DAYS AND IT'S ALREADY ALL MESSED UP!!"

"Oh dear, take it easy. It's just a car."

I'll spare you the further details of our arguing that went on but that weekend, we traded in the Cherokee and bought a Camry for her use. Now, every time I wash my car, it still pains me to look at the rims. I keep on telling myself that I'll step up to the plate and fork over the $300 or so bucks one day to repair them (www.repairmyrims.com aka Velvet Touch) but money is money.

I feel your pain brother. My wife took the G to the dealer for me for my 15xxx mile service. She curbed the passenger side also. Now she works like 10 min from the dealer but I still won't let her take my car in anymore. Our service advisor knows me becausewhen she pulled into the dealer crying they tried to fix some of the damage she did.
She has an Fx35 so I just let her drive the suv I drive the g if we take it. She wouldn't even drive my vette when I had that she said it was to nerve racking in her possession. I can't help it I treat my car a cetain way and I expect others to do the same if they can't or won't then don't borrow my car.
