So for all those who are on lowered rides, what tips can you offer for those of us who are new to this modding culture. My previous two cars were both SUVS ('97 Landcruiser, '02 RX 300) so I've never really given too much thought to every imperfection on the road.

Angles are your friends, I've been driving a lowered car for 6-7 years now and I still have issues occasionally. Take all driveways and speedbumps at an angle of 45 deg or more, and SLOW DOWN as much as possible when approaching these obsticles. Memorize potholes on your normal commute and keep an eye out whenever going somewhere unfamilar

*carry along a small wooden plank for those friends and family that has them not-so-friendly curbed driveways.

Avoid manhole covers, potholes and speedbumps at all cost. Ramps and drive thrus are now your front lip/bumper, undercarrige, exhaust systems worse enemy so as Redlude97 said angle is the key. This also means that if you have to take extraa caution when driving.

Just take a slow when you know the obsticles are there.
Test out what you can handle and things you can't.
You can't avoid everything but if you know the height of which you have then you will be fine.
+1 on the angles, especially on driveways.
Memorize your daily roads like redlude suggests. You will eventually.

Other than that you should be fine as long as you understand whats to be expected.

also....keep in mind uneven pavement (the hardest to see sometimes - especially in the dark), going fast enough, they can do some damage to your rims/suspension

know what driveways you CAN enter and those that you CANNOT which you simply avoid. Better start looking for different routes.
