F1 Motorsport - Best customer service EVER
F1 Motorsport - Best customer service EVER
About a year ago, I got 20" Volk GT-7/Toyos from Chris a F1 Motorsport. Got the best price and best service.
Yesterday, my left rear tire blew out on the freeway. AAA roadside assistance came along and installed my spare for me using an impact wrench. I thought all was good but people on the freeway kept honking at me telling me my spare was wobbly. I made it to work (late) but I knew I would not make it very far on that wobbly spare.
I called Chris at F1 who tracked down a new 275/30/20 Toyo right away (even though they normally don't stock too many). I had to call a flatbed to bring my car over to F1. Turns out the AAA guy left the centering ring on the hub which stopped the spare from seating correctly on the hub which is why it was so wobbly. He also torqued down the lugs so tight on the crooked spare that he stripped all the studs, 1 of which broke off when we removed the spare.
By this time, it was 6pm and F1 was closing. The guys stayed late and hooked me up with new studs/lugs. They went far above and beyond to make sure I rolled out correct and safe. Chris ended up only charging me for the tire itself. 2 installers spent at least 2 hours fixing AAA's screw-up and stayed late.
I learned a couple of things:
1. Check that damn tire pressure more often - duh!
2. Get a 19mm socket and change the tire myself
3. Make sure the centering ring comes off the hub!
4. Get your aftermarket rims/tires from Chris at F1
These days, all you find at most places are indifferent or negative attitudes when it comes to service. At F1, the guys were positive, competent, made me feel comfortable, and went out of their way to help. I'm a pretty tough guy to please. And I was having a pretty crappy day. F1 turned the whole thing into a very positive experience for me.
Whether you are local or not, if you need wheels/tires, you need to call Chris at F1. You'll get the best price AND best service........PERIOD.
