So i picked up a set of Volks recently. SF Challenges, sick rims, for the first two days i had them.

Stupid me didnt do my research and i used black magic spray on wheel cleaner. The no scrub one, spray on spray off. After i sprayed on i noticed the rims got really cloudy looking and almost looking like a rainbow, i didnt think anything of it.

Until i posted about it in my local region, now im hearing my rims are screwed, i tried using chrome/mag polish, it makes the cloudiness go away for a minute or two but then it comes right back.

This really sucks, can anybody recommend a good refinishing shop? and give me any idea on how much this is gunna cost me?

I know its my fault and im probably going to get flammed but whatever you live and learn

I did the same thing on one of my stock 18s. Those d*mn wheel cleaners are dangerous.

 

if you have some coin.. its about $20something to ship a wheel.. ship them to me I can have them refinished (polished) for $130 pre wheel

and pay for shipping back

I spoke to somebody at black magic, and they said all i would have to do it write a written statement, proof of purchase of the product, pictures of the damages, and two quotes from a shop stating the damage and theyll cover it...

these wheels still have tires on them so itll cost even more to ship

 

go get the tires un mounted lol.. I need to unmount them to refinish

I can give you a written quote.... want to bump it up to $200 per wheel? lol. .these rims are finished with a clear coat.. so to put everything in simple terms..

if you wont use it on your paint.. then dont use it on your wheels.. treat these wheels like your paint.. wax it with the same products and use the same towls as your car!

 

yea i cannot find a shop around here locally that does rim repairs. I dunno if itll look weird that i got a quote from cali and i live in Ct.

Man that sucks. So many people have had problems with the lips on their volks from cleaners.
