DBA Rotors
Hey all,
I just got my DBA Disk Brakes Australia 4000 series slotted rotors. I didn't see too much info. for these rotors, so thought I would post this thread. I will be using these as my 'track only' set. They have some really nice 5000 series two-piece rotors, but not for my '05 coupe.

After having my rotors fail at Horse Theif Mile:

They were 'Centric' brand drilled/slotted made in China. Not good. I can't imagine what would happen if the rotor broke up when I needed it...

Now on to the new rotors-
They were recommended by the Carbotech guys that make my track pads:

A few pics:

Color bands change color at various temperatures...

I bought them through DBA distributor:
Speed Solution International, Inc.
www.gripforce.com
I got a pretty good deal when I compared them to another DBA authorized dealer. PM if you want a referall...
I will be testing these at Buttonwillow Raceway on Sept. 30th. I will report my impressions after that...

That sort of crack is typical of drilled rotors used on the track without proper cooling. Cooling ducts would address that issue, or heat treated materials would be beneficial.
Be interested to hear about these DBA rotors and how they hold up in heat. I was just at Buttonwillow for two days this Thursday and Friday, and boy-howdy, was it hot.

I just bought the Stillen slotted rotors (04 6MTC Brembo) from Stillen.com. Another member of this forum just realized that DBA 4000 series are the same rotors that stillen sells, just boxed in their "Stillen" box.
I havent had any issues with my "DBA 4000" rotors yet. Good luck to you on the track.

I just checked Stillen.com and my application for a full set of 'Stillen' rotors was $689.50 not including tax, I saved over $150 with my vendor. Hopefully they do the trick...

Back from Buttonwillow, and the brakes and rotors performed great. I just have the stock calipers, with the Carbotech race compound pads, and the DBA 4000 slotted rotors. No vibration, scoring etc. At the end of the straight away, I got up to 105 mph and slowed before the turn at .96 G-force (measured by my navi gauge display while filming it) and still no issue.
I am sure many rotors could do the same, but I am just reporting back with no issues thus far, hopefully they will continue to perform to my satisfaction.
Next up is the Roval at California Speedway December 2nd...
