40 Offset For Coupe

I have a 2006 Coupe with the staggered 19inch set rims on right now.
I know these cars have an off-set of 30 (or 33).
My question is am I ok to go with a 17 rim with an ofset of 40?
These would be used for winter tires that are 225/55R17 in size...just want to make sure that this set-up is OK without doing any damage.

Thx

it should fit depending on the design of the wheel, FWIW, my winter setup is 17" sedan wheels with an offset of +45(?)
