Anyone heard of TriNet brand rotors?

I ran into these because someone is selling a set of 4 in the private classifieds. They are dirt cheap and they even have rotors for the OEM Brembo's. You get to choose from 24 different drill or slot designs.

They are selling front AND rear rotors for $239.99 + shipping (~$51 here). This is cheaper than anything I've seen for just the front rotors with OEM Brembo's.

Too good to be true? I'm looking at the F1 series "Shank" design for my '04 6MT.

these don't seem like they are even cross-drilled. The holes don't make it through to the other side. I think these would be similar in quality to the OEM ones so i say go for it if you want same performance. That price isn't too good to be true, trust me, but then again the quality aint to high either.

You get what you pay for.... research R1 rotors. people jumped all over them because of the pricing similar to these and a month or so after they had them installed they turned to **** because they were supposed to come coated in something and everyone had to send them back to the ESCAM seller to have them "recoated"

i was thinking about getting rotors but i figured i didnt need them for the extra stopping power and if i get rotors i might as well get calipers and that would have to be a BBK and thats 3 g's . so i never got it.

You are correct that the drill holes don't make it through to the other side, that is what I want. It has the added benefit of heat dissipation by increasing surface area without actually putting a hole in the rotor.

I track my car maybe once or twice a year and I think my last track session is what "warped" my OEM rotors. I think the "warping" is more so due to the Hawk HPS pads than the rotors. I'm debating on going with a set of pads specifically for the track and then go back to Hawk HPS for the street.

I just had MEECHIN install slotted Direct Replacement Stoptech Rotors on my car. The total cost installed was less than the price to purchase the other rotors I was looking at (oem slotted brembo rotors).

I found some lengthy threads on the R1 concepts rotors. The company actually chimed in on one of the longer threads and explained his product. After reading through several pages of the thread it appears that the R1 concepts rotors are not all that bad. People experienced rusting within the slots because there was no zinc coating to protect the rotor surface that does not come into contact with the pads.

My biggest concern for these or any other rotors are longevity. I don't want to buy these rotors and have them warp or crack the first time I heat them up or do some aggressive braking.

Your biggest concern was mine as well. You've put a lot of money into your car. I'd suggest not going with cheapo rotors, and especially since you track them. All the R&D companies like brembo, stoptech, etc. put into designing their rotors for such uses is what drives their price up. These cheapo rotors are coming from someone who is designing them with the sole intention of low cost. They are not going to test and abuse these things like big companies do.

You may find yourself in the market for new rotors again possibly even after one track session. Drilled rotors are especially prone to warping and cracking if they are not cast/drilled correctly. This brings me back to the point about R&D. There is none on rotors like these. The quality of these rotors might be okay for standard braking systems because they will not get abused like a racing setup is designed to withstand. You have FI and a need for a great braking system.

If I were to go FI I would not be running my oem Brembo system. I'd go with a full project Mu system, or stoptech system, wildwood, etc. They are all designed for real racing scenario driving. IMHO Our oem brembo's are more for looks and moderate tracking with our stock HP range. I'm no expert, but I've spent a decent amount of time looking into these things when I was thinking FI.

Thanks for your input filanj. I agree with a lot of what you have to say. I am now looking into powerstop and powerslot rotors for my setup. I am seeing that on average a quality rotor will cost about twice as much as these TriNET eBay brand. The two brands I just mentioned appear to be a good quality rotor while not as crazy priced as a stoptech or brembo rotor. I think you are partly paying for a name with the latter two.

As for the OEM brembo's, I think they are adequate for the car if you are only doing high performance driving once or twice a year. They are IMO far better than the non-brembo OEM option for the year. It's not worth it to me to invest in the huge expense of an aftermarket BBK for my needs.

I feel that it may be to my best interest to invest in a second set of brake pads to be used solely for the track. Track pads take much longer to heat up so they do not perform well when cold (i.e. not ideal for daily use). I just don't know what the consequences are of swapping out pads just for 1 day of use and then going back to a daily driver pad.

I ordered 4 powerslot cryogenic treated rotors from PhilsInc.com about 6 months ago. Absolutely love them, obviously a lot more expensive than these TriNet China blank rotors.
