Products used to spraypaint over chrome rims??

I bought a set of OEM 17" chrome and they were used as a winter setup so it's never been washed and the chrome is chipping badly.

Are there any specific products that I can use to clean them and to remove most of the chrome so it'd be smooth again (ie. sanding)?

I would also like to have them painted bronze and I heard that spray painting on chrome is hard to stay on. What kind of products I should use for getting this done correctly?

BTW, i really like your black roof overlay. Did you have it painted or it's just a removable layer?

It's an overlay from Bat so it's removable.

Back to the topic, I need to know how to clean them up and get rid of the chrome so I can have them spray painted bronze.

The only real way to remove the chrome is to have them sand blasted or sanding them by hand, you are probably better off sending them to a powdercoating shop that has a sandblaster though
